  • Add a Major or Minor

Looking to add a second major or minor to your bachelor's degree? Use this form to submit the request to the Registrar's Office. Refer to the Academic Catalog for a list of potential majors and minors.
  • The BBA and the BS tracks in History, Social Studies, and English (Teaching Licensure tracks) are not eligible for a second major. For more information about this degree, please contact the Registrar's Office.

  • Before you proceed:

An second major does not become official until the semester after this form is submitted. Students who wish to graduate with the addition of the new major must submit this form in the semester prior to their final semester (e.g., students wishing to graduate in May must submit their application in the Fall semester or earlier; students who wish to graduate in December, must submit their application in the Summer semester or earlier).

  • Disclaimers

An additional major may be added under the following circumstances:

    1. The student is currently enrolled at Southeastern and is in good standing (i.e., no academic/disciplinary probation or suspension).
    2. Students cannot add a major and graduate with that major in the same term.
    3. When a new major is added, the new major would fall under the current Academic Catalog that is applicable at the time the major is added (not the student's original matriculation term).
    4. Submitting this form does not automatically grant students approval to add a second major. The student’s file must first be reviewed by the Registrar's Office, and he or she will be notified of any questions/decisions.
    5. Students cannot double major when the two majors in question share more than six required credit hours in common. Those overlapping hours may be replaced by hours with the same prefixes as those being replaced or hours whose content is similar in nature per the catalog description.
    6. A second major does not fulfill the vocational requirements of the Bachelor of Science degree.
    7. The BS tracks in History, Social Studies, and English (Teaching Licensure tracks) are not eligible for a second major.
